Tassilo Dellers Jazz Quartet (deutsch / français / english)

The Tassilo Dellers Jazz Quartet, founded in 2004, plays acoustic modal Jazz. The first CD „See You“ (2004) is CD with only slow ballads. All the same, the Quartet uses binary as well as ternary grooves. The second CD "Love" (2008) exists exclusively of selfmade compositions by Tassilo Dellers and shows a vastly built dynamic spectrum: Quiet, melodious passages, from time to time composed in a sense of "chamber music", alternate with energetically powerful improvisations; lyrical, restrained melodies with partly intensive and wild tone sequences. A little more than half of the compositions are based on odd metres (5/4, 6/4 and 6/8), which, however, show a mostly fluent groovy pulse, due to the middle tempi.
For our third CD Mixed Dreams (published 2014 on UNIT Records) it goes on in a similar Modal Jazz style but the sound has changed: Adrian Schäublin plays the Fender Rhodes Piano an Tassilo Dellers plays in several compositions also the C- and the Alto-Flute. Look also at: Rolf De Marchi (music jounalist) about the music on the cd
